Happy 60th Birthday Dear Amma

Dearest Amma,

Happy 60th Birthday!. Thanks for being a such a great mom, mother in law and grand mother.

People who have known you, will always love your smile from the eyes.

Looking back on your life as a mother, there are a lot of things that inspire me.

In an era where people hesitate moving from metros to small villages, you got married to appa and relocated to Mannargudi (a small town) from Chennai (where you were raised).
I admire your spirit to embrace and support all of appa's(dad's) wide range of interests from Farming to even raising cows, though you had no clue on those.
Dad and you are a perfect example for parenting and you are our best friend. You and appa taught us basics of music in a playful manner and that formed my basis for appreciating good music.
You love us and dad and was working in a small primary school for almost 15 years, for a meagre pay to support our family further.

I admire your memory and when you recite your prayers in Sanskrit, i still wonder how you remember all of them, as you easily chant even for an hour, as you cook.
You are a great singer and Siddharth misses his lullabies from you.

When celebrating each and every Hindu festival, I miss in my heart on how we used to celebrate. Each festival had a special meaning to us and you had involved all 3 children and that formed a good basis for our cultural and moral values.
You have always been a very understanding mom. I remember how restless I were when I got admission to BITS, Pilani but you only gave a smile and encouragement that I would come up successful.

When moms of your generation were not willing to send their daughters abroad for their official work, you supported my interests and I owe all my success in career to you.
You treat all 3 son- in-laws as sons and share a special bond with each of them and all 3 of them call you Amma.

More than anything, I & Arune were feeling very down when Baby came premature and not discharged home for 32 days. Each day when I went to hospital you accompanied me. Though you were not allowed to touch the baby, you were saying your prayers for hours in the hospital.
Today Siddharth is doing well, with all your love.

I love you Mom and no words can say how much I love you. You are a true inspiration for me, on how I should raise Siddharth and show him all my love.

Thank you Amma!
